This was our Right Booth Buddies; Cathy Hannah and her book Winter Beard. Cathy's on the right with her friend Lyndsie on the right. The pitch for Winter Beard, from what I remember, is as follows. [ahem] "What's Winter Beard about? Well, ever had a crush on someone? I had a crush on my best friend Mike, but I didn't know how to tell him. So I did this comic and gave it to him and said 'Here, I made this for you, love me!' I can't tell you how it ended though, so you'll have to read it and find out! And it's 80 pages for only $6! Or you can buy two books for only $10, which is a real deal! Plus it's backed by the Xeric grant... so you know it's a good story if they liked it!" ... They managed to get a sizable crowd through out the entire weekend. For Friday I tried to sort of steal some of the wind out of her sales rather sneakily, but by Saturday and Sunday I managed to get on my own two feet. Winter Beard itself is a pretty good story, I certainly recommend reading it myself.
